Consultancy for the third sector
Independent publishing consultancy
specialising in the voluntary
and education sectors
If any of these ring a bell…
o How much do our publications really cost?
o Why is the Web adding to our publication costs?
o Please can this department share the profits
from our materials?
o How well are we getting our message across?
o Are we providing the right information?
o How should we set the budget for this work?
o Can we recover our costs for this?
o We’ve run out of leaflets – please send us
another two boxes.
…we may be able to help
With 30 years of experience in the commercial sector and a consultancy career which began in the early 1990s, John Winckler can help with the challenges that face publishing managers in the voluntary sector:
o adapting charity financial information for publishing management control
o sorting out objectives and priorities
o moving publications out of a ‘service’ role
o focusing funding on client and campaign needs
o finding resources for publications.
The voluntary sector has expanded enormously over the last decade: now the pressure is on, particularly from Government, to deliver better value. As the founding director of a small publisher, I can offer independent and practical advice on the performance and presentation of your operations.
From a plain review and financial assessment to helping to implement a programme of major change, I am available to fact-find, facilitate and, when necessary, help implement changes.
Organisations benefit from reasonably priced and flexible advice, tailored to their needs by an experienced professional manager. Publications in voluntary bodies have varied objectives, but they must be cost-effective, deliver value and fit with the organisation’s objectives.
My advice is action-orientated, immediately leading to improvements that can save you money. I don’t bring a one-size-fits-all ‘solution’. My approach is inclusive and develops managers, staff and organisation together.
More than half of my recent clients have asked me to return to help implement the ideas that have emerged from a review and to deliver coaching
and other support.
I am happy to come and talk to you about your needs.
